Councils

The Presbyteral Council, (or Council of Priests), made up of priests representing the whole of the presbyterium, is like the bishop’s senate.  A few members of this council make up the College of Consultants who are often asked to advise the bishop on important matters.  The Diocesan Council on Economic Affairs, made up of lay persons who are experts in Business Management, play a similar role in resolving any serious administrative issues.  Finally, the Nominations Committee assists the bishops in assigning new responsibilities to priests in the diocese.
