Singer-songwriter Robert Lebel collaborates with the Aid to the Church in Need organization.
Approached by the Canadian branch of the humanitarian organization Aid to the Church in Need, the popular Catholic singer-songwriter has lent some of his songs in order to raise public awareness of the situation of Christians persecuted throughout the world.
This cooperation between Robert Lebel and Aid to the Church in Need materialized with the release, in 2010, of the CD Consolez mon peuple. Six years later, the success of this initiative hasn’t waned yet. As proof, this compilation of 12 songs has been re-recorded just before the Holidays.
«I was very touched by this project», confided Robert Lebel, «The songs chosen by Aid to the Church in Need takes on situations of conflict, of suffering, of war. Their choice is very coherent.»
According to Robert Lebel, the common point shared by the selected songs is hope. «These are all songs that nourish hope in our hearts. The chosen texts speak of the suffering of those who endure it, especially those whose body has been trampled. They remind us also that Christ has promised to be at our side, and to give us his strength so that we can change things.» To continue reading...
