CANCELLATION OF THE VISIT OF MGR NAJEEB MICHAEL o, p.

With the violent clashes that have taken place in Iraq over the past ten days and which have claimed hundreds of lives, the Chaldean Church has decided to cancel any trip outside the country of its priests, bishops and his patriarch. They want to stay close to the people in these difficult times.

All indications are that the country is heading for another conflict. People from all sectors of Iraqi society who are tired of suffering and protesting, while political leaders benefit from obvious corruption.
It is with regret that Bishop Najeeb has to postpone his trip to Canada. He invites us to pray for peace in this increasingly torn country and in particular for the Christians who will once again be tested.

On the same subject, the Dominican University College offers a public lecture on the future of Christians in Iraq:

After 16 years of war is there a future for Christians in Iraq?

This is the question that will be answered by our speakers, Jean Fahmy, writer and Carl Hétu, national director of CNEWA CANADA replacing Bishop Najeeb Michaeel OP, Archbishop Chaldean of Mosul, Iraq, who had to cancel his visit to Canada given the current situation in Iraq which requires its presence among its people.
Room 221 of the Dominican University College, 96 Empress Avenue, Ottawa, Thursday, November 7 at 7:30 pm. This meeting is jointly organized by the Dominican University College and CNEWA Canada.
Free entry. Welcome to all!
