The Archdiocese of Gatineau is studying the possibility of relocating its diocesan services to Saint-Matthieu Church

Gatineau, Quebec — The Archdiocese of Gatineau announces that it will undertake a feasibility study to study the possibility of relocating to Saint-Matthieu Church in the Touraine area of Gatineau. The purpose of this study is to validate the technical feasibility of relocating diocesan administrative and pastoral services while ensuring the community and liturgical life of Saint-Matthieu Parish. The Archdiocese is also studying the possibility of relocating the dozen partner community organizations currently housed at the Diocesan Centre located at 180 Mont-Bleu Boulevard. As announced in December 2016, the Archdiocese of Gatineau assessed its needs for premises and potential sites, while prioritizing an already existing, central and accessible religious building. The decision of the Archdiocese was the subject of consultations with the major diocesan councils and leaders of Saint-Matthieu Parish. Once the feasibility study has been completed, diocesan authorities will announce their decision and the timetable for this relocation project.  To continue reading, please click here
