Volunteering

Volunteer Action Week:  from 23 to 29 April 2017, 43rd Edition

The word "volunteer" comes from the Latin "voluntarius" which means "willing". Volunteers are people who are willing commit themselves to the common good, putting their time and talents to work for others. This week, we want to recognize them, congratulate them and even celebrate them in order to tell them how much we appreciate their dedication and generosity. Without volunteers, our society would not function. Neither would our parishes! All the more reason to give thanks to God for these hundreds of men and women, young and old, who actualize their baptism and confirmation by bringing our Christian communities to life. Engaged in the name of their faith, they inspire and encourage us. For all our volunteers, blessed are you, O Lord!
